    UPDATES FROM THE HDPSC TEAM

We would like to bring an update about our Finance Officer and founding member Gill Knight who is now recovering in a rehabilitation centre after a series of strokes in February. She is making good progress and flying the flag for Palestine on the ward! If any of her friends wishes to visit please contact us for details.

Unsurprisingly, our organization is busier than ever and our team needs to grow to meet this important moment. If you are interested in getting involved please do come to the next branch meeting on 7 May or email us. We are particularly in need of those with skills in:
  • Communications - social media/writing media reports etc.
  • Organizing - for meetings/events/speakers/membership.
  • Banner making.
  • Fundraising.
There is a place for everybody in the Palestine solidarity movement - whoever you are and whatever your skills, please do think about taking an active role in our organization.

STOP THE GENOCIDE MARCH THROUGH HASTINGS

Hastings stands against genocide. That was the message loud and clear at our recent march and rally.

We marched to General Dynamics to demand that it stop supplying military equipment used for Israel's genocidal policies.

Support came from Hastings, Eastbourne, with a great turnout from our sister branch Brighton and Hove PSC along with activists campaigning against the L3HarrisTech arms factory in Moulsecoomb, Brighton. .

We must give a big thank you to everyone who ran the children's activities. While the march gave a clear and strong statement, showing our disgust and opposition to a local business arming genocide, it was at the same time a family-friendly event. A total rebuttal to accusations from some politicians that these events are 'hate marches.'

Thanks also to our co-sponsors: Hastings Women's Voice, Hastings and District Trades Council, Hastings Against War, Parents for Future Hastings & St Leonards and Extinction Rebellion - Hastings & St Leonards. And for the great food, we have to thank Yaaze Bistro Cafe And Meze Bar from Denmark Place, and not forgetting Kevin for running the BBQ. Drone footage (see below) thanks to Spark Studios.

From the march and rally: YouTube video, Hastings Independent article and TikTok video.
